It’s Monday again! Are the weeks flying by for anyone else? I can’t believe it is almost the Fourth of July. Will you see the fireworks? Will you set off some of your own? Whatever your plans are for this week, be sure to incorporate some gross motor activities! Not so long ago, we were all thinking that winter would NEVER end, so get outside and enjoy these hot, long and gorgeous days of summer. Here are some fabulous ideas that were shared on our Facebook page last Monday.
DABBLING MAMA came up with this cute idea to work on number recognition and sequencing while incorporating some simple gross motor activities to find them around the yard! I love when movement and learning can be rolled up into one activity!
This idea from ADVENTURES OF ADAM is SO creative!! She created a spider for threading practice using all natural and recycled items. Check out her post and you will see how the kiddos used strength, bilateral coordination, balance, body awareness and more to create a spider!
And finally, if you are at a loss for outdoor play ideas on these beautiful summer days, check out CRYSTAL AND COs list of 150! Her list includes everything from balance activities to water play and has suggestions for toddlers on up through the elementary ages.
That wraps it up for this week! Go on over to Facebook and share your favorite WHOLE BODY movement activities from this week. Even if you are not a blogger and you don’t have fancy pictures and long descriptions of how your get your kiddos involved in gross motor activities, we would love to just see a picture. Post a picture of your child on the playground or swimming through a pool. Inspire others to get up, get out and get moving!
ENJOY YOUR WEEK and HAPPY 4th of JULY!!
