WOWWWWWW! You all rocked Movement Monday last week! We had so many shares from so many new faces and were excited about all of the gross motor activities you came up with! If you are new to our Movement Monday series, please head on over to our Facebook page and share your favorite gross motor activity. We will pin it to our Movement Monday board on Pinterest and pick our favorite few to share next Monday right here on the blog! Here are our favorites from this week.
JOYS OF THE JOURNEY shared our favorite post of the week. Why? Because she thought outside the box about whole body movement and went BLUEBERRY PICKING! Do you know how whole body that activity is? Bending, squatting, standing, reaching, squeezing, pinching, grasping, carrying….the list goes on and on. She didn’t stop there though! She got those blueberries home and got her kiddos (love that she also calls her babies “kiddos”) in the kitchen and made Blueberry Oatmeal Muffins—YUMMY! Click on the picture to get the recipe and see all about their adventure.
LALYMOM rocked our page with her gross motor activity of STOMPING around on Dinosaur Feet! And, the best part? She made them herself! I literally had an “aaahaaa” moment when I read her post and realized what she used to make these cute dino feet! Head on over to her blog to check them out and to get some great ideas for other dinosaur-related preschool activities.
And last but certainly not least, Viviana from TOT SCHOOLING shared an amazing printable that I immediately grabbed to use with my kiddos in physical therapy. So many children have difficulty motor planning movements like over, under, next to, etc. She came up with the cutest cards for helping to encourage these skills and she provides different ways to play with them to address different areas like fine motor, visual discrimination and gross motor. LOVE IT!
THANK YOU ALL FOR SHARING!!! Let’s do it again this week! Head on over to The Inspired Treehouse Facebook page (like us if you haven’t already) and then share your favorite gross motor activity for kids on our wall. In the meantime, have a marvelous Monday!!!
