IT’S MONDAY!! I hope you all had a fantastic week and a very Happy Father’s Day yesterday! What did you do? Did you do something as a family? Did you send dad out golfing for a quiet morning alone? Our family just returned from a week away at the beach late Saturday night so yesterday was a bit of a catch-up and gear-up for the week kind of day. It was really fun to log on this morning and find all of the fun gross motor activities that were posted on our Facebook wall throughout the week. Here are some of our favorites:
J DANIEL 4’S MOM shared a great activity that is going to be added to my therapy bag for work!! LOVE THIS! She offers free printable action cards that demonstrate gross motor movements and asks that your child determine how many of each movement they will do by counting dots on LEGOS!! Brilliant, eh?
MY NEAREST AND DEAREST learned all about proprioception and shared a list of activities that address this important component of the sensory system! You will be thrilled to learn about the tasks that you can have your child do outside that will be so beneficial to their development!
We do not typically address baby play at The Inspired Treehouse, but I thought that this video by THE REALISTIC MAMA was so sweet and informative. Baby yoga and massage are great ways to stimulate your baby’s nervous and muscular systems! Check out the video below….warning…the cutest baby ever coos and babbles through this video…you may want another baby in the house after watching!
That is our round-up for this week! Remember to head on over to Facebook and post your favorite whole body movement activities so you have the opportunity to be featured next Monday! Enjoy your week.
