Are you on duty to cook up some fun Halloween party games for your child’s classroom party? Or maybe you’re having a Halloween party of your own! Here’s a super fun and easy fine motor game – perfect for working on grasping and visual motor skills!
We love a good fine motor game! This one is like the classic game of Kerplunk…only with a Halloween theme. Grab a handful of those plastic spiders you’re using for your Halloween decor and get started!
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
-Uncooked pasta noodles
-Plastic spiders or spider rings
-Plastic basket or other container with holes on the sides
WHAT TO DO:
Thread a bunch of uncooked noodles through the holes on either side of your container to make the spider web.
Sprinkle a handful of plastic spiders onto the web, so they balance on the noodles.
Go around the group, having kids take turns pulling one noodle out at a time. The object of the game is to pull a noodle on each of your turns without letting any of the spiders fall!
If a spider falls, you’re out! The last child left in the game is the winner!
HOW TO CHANGE IT UP:
-Change the object of the game! Have kids strategically pull out noodles to try to make the spiders fall as quickly as possible!
-Have the kids set up the game, threading the noodles through the holes of the basket.
SKILL AREAS ADDRESSED:
Fine motor skills, grasp, visual motor integration, coordination, cognitive skills, social skills
