Halloween activities that challenge a child’s creativity and motor planning are right up the Inspired Treehouse’s alley! With this game of Halloween charades, children will be having their very own monster mash in no time!
WHAT YOU’LL NEED: printable charade cards
WHAT TO DO:
Print out the charade cards, which have different pictures of Halloween characters on them. Fold each card and place into a bag. One child goes first, choosing a character from the bag and trying to act or move like the character on the card. The other kids try to guess who their friend is imitating. Once the correct answer has been guessed, all the children may stand and practice imitating the movement. Expect giggles!
HOW TO CHANGE IT UP:
-The adult in the group may need to be the one to act out the initial character until the kids get the hang of it.
-Younger kids’ turns may consist of choosing a charade card from the bag and watching as the adult acts out the character.
-For younger kids, or kids who might struggle with guessing, try having a choice board available with pictures of each character so the group has options to choose from.
-Once the cards have all been drawn, see if the children can come up with their own Halloween characters to continue the game.
-Or, start the game over as a memory game by challenging the children to see if they can remember the movements they used for each character.
