This fun bug game for kids is a play on a good old fashioned carnival game. Fish out your water guns and let your children practice their visual motor skills with some target shooting today. This bug game for kids is one of our many games for kids that works inside on a rainy day or outside in the sunshine!
What You’ll Need:
-solid color shower curtain
-permanent marker
-wide tape
What to Do:
Keep it simple with this easy bug game for kids. First, draw a variety of bugs onto a solid colored shower curtain and hang the curtain either on the far side of your shower inside the house, or outside on a solid surface.
Next, call out a bug and let your child see if he can spray that bug with his water gun!
Start close and have him move farther back for a greater challenge as he gets the hang of it. Fabulous for strengthening those little fingers and eyes!
How to Change it Up:
-Work on some math skills with this bug game for kids for a school aged child. Have each of the bugs represent a point value. He can add up his points at the end of the game! You could also draw/write other learning concepts on the shower curtain: letters, numbers, sight words, etc.
-If your child isn’t a steady shot with his water gun when the curtain is hanging vertically, then lay it flat on the ground and let them aim and shoot downwards. A great starting place for encouraging shoulder stability!
Skill Areas Addressed:
Bilateral coordination, cognitive skills, coordination, fine motor skills, finger isolation, grasp, visual motor integration, visual perceptual skills
