Our Facebook page was rockin’ with your ideas for gross motor movement activities this week! Thank you to everyone that shared their activities for Movement Monday. Grab your kids and get ready to move your body!
Sugar Aunts posted a fantastic, bee themed activity that was inspired by Winnie the Pooh. You know there is a fellow OT in their group of 3, right? So, of course, there was a fantastic fine motor element in their activity that would help your child work on those Super Fingers without even realizing it! In addition to the fine motor activity, they incorporated a cognitive piece, a sensory activity and gross motor work. We love the whole body approach! Thank you ladies!
Three Boys and a Dog brought us a treasure hunt game that looked so fun that we had to try it immediately at our house! It was a hit. And, again, it was a great combination of skills — cognitive, fine motor and a ton of gross motor! All of this was rolled into a fantastic game that the whole family could enjoy. So fun!
Finally, Giselle from Kid’s Yoga Stories put together another great yoga series. She came up with a Spring themed group of poses with names like spring, rain, bird, and tree. You will have to head on over to her blog to see the amazing ideas she has! My favorite?? Relaxing in the park!! Yes, it’s a yoga pose in this series! There is even a bonus series for Easter!
Those were a few of our favorites from this week. If you want to see all of the other great posts, head over to Facebook and click on the Highlights/posts by others tab at the top of the feed.
