What You’ll Need:
-Construction Paper
-Scissors
-Glue
-Coffee Filters
-Craft eyes
What to Do:
Fold a coffee filter in fourths to make a shape like a slice of pizza. Use the scissors to cut a few slits into the coffee filter to create the spider web. Encourage kids to stabilize the coffee filter with their non-dominant hand while cutting with their dominant hand.
Cut a circle out of the construction paper to use as the spider’s body. Cut 8 skinny and long rectangles and fold them up, accordion-style. Glue the legs and eyes onto the circle to finish the spider.
Glue the spider web onto colored construction paper and then glue the spider on top to complete your craft!
How to Change it Up:
-Learn more about hand dominance and how it develops in young kids.
-Add some glitter to your spider web for a fun, sparkly effect!
-Try this craft with our Sticky Spider Web Obstacle Course to add a fun gross motor component to your Spider Theme!
