Happy Spring! It’s finally here! We hope you all enjoyed your long weekend and that some of you are getting a week off for spring break to get outside and get moving! Here is some inspiration from other bloggers who shared their favorite gross motor water activities on our Facebook page for Movement Monday last week.
LITTLE BINS FOR LITTLE HANDS share this fun (and wet!) activity for number recognition. What kiddo doesn’t love a little water balloon action? I love how she had her son running around to find the numbers as she called them out and then throwing the water balloons to “blast” them. So much fun!!
MOSSWOOD CONNECTIONS had another twist on using water balloons that really hit visual motor skills and coordination. And she related this activity to baseball…her son needed a little confidence boost in this sport, so she was giving him the visual motor practice he might need to be successful with connecting the bat to the ball. Brilliant!!
JOYS OF THE JOURNEY shared a whole post on kayaking with kids. What a great whole body activity! She provides tips and pointers for how to do this successfully and even suggests that it might be a fantastic way to celebrate Earth Day if you live in an area where it’s warm enough to be out on the water!
Thank you again to everyone that shared! Check out our favorite gross motor activity from this week on The Inspired Treehouse!
Have a fantastic week and don’t forget to head on over and share your favorite whole body movement activities on Movement Monday!
