Can I please complain for a second…
I AM SO TIRED OF THE RAIN!
Thank you very much for the moment of whining. We have barely had a summer here in Northeast Ohio. I think the average temperature has been in the low 70’s and we have literally had rain every day but 2. We’ve had to get creative to keep our very active kids entertained in the rain! If you follow us on Instagram, you can see some of the rainy craziness that has been going on here.
On a more positive note, we had a fabulous week at The Inspired Treehouse. We brought you another feature in our ABCs of Development Series all about Crossing the Midline and we shared 10 Awesome Backyard Games for Kids! We also started a new series called 10 Days to Conquer and provided a list of simple yet effective exercises and activities to help your kids master the monkey bars!
Here are the great whole body movement ideas that our readers shared on our Facebook page last Monday.
MY BORED TODDLER || A bored toddler? Oh my! That would be awful! Here are some ideas for fine, gross and sensory motor play to keep your child busy while practicing child development skills!
TEACHING 2 & 3 YEAR OLDS || Music is motivating and fun! Here is a great collection of action songs for kids that will have them moving and grooving! #10 is my all-time favorite! :)
SOMETHING 2 OFFER || Never underestimate the benefits of activities that are so obvious that you might not realize how awesome they are for providing whole body movement! For instance, miniature golf! Check out this post about the gross motor benefits of this favorite family game.
HAPPY MONDAY! :)
