Christmas Gross Motor Activities
What You’ll Need:
-Free printable Santa cards (scroll down and fill out the form)
What to do:
Print and laminate your cards to make them more durable and reusable from season to season! Then, spread the cards out on the floor, face down. Have kids choose a Santa card and use their bodies to imitate the exact position the Santa is showing in the picture. If you’re playing in the group, have the rest of the group try the same movement!
How to Change it Up:
-Instead of spreading the cards on the floor, place them inside a Santa hat for kids to choose one at a time!
-Create sequences of movements by placing a few of the gross motor cards next to each other on the floor and having kids do multiple movements in a row!
-Have kids come up with ideas to describe what Santa is doing in each movement! Is he running to his sleigh? Is he warming his behind by the fire?
-Make it into a drawing activity by having kids draw their own silly positions for Santa and then have them act them out using their bodies!
