Maybe you need just one more movement activity to wear those kiddos out before bed! This one will do it but, fair warning, it may get a little rowdy too! This activity for kids is based on the song by Hap Palmer and is called “Teddy Bear Playtime”.
WHAT YOU NEED: A teddy bear or favorite stuffed animal and the song “Teddy Bear Playtime”: Download Hap Palmer’s “Teddy Bear Playtime” here, or buy the CD here.
WHAT TO DO: Encourage your child to follow along with the song lyrics (below) and complete the movements with their teddy bear.
Throw your teddy bear and catch
Turn around, turn around, jump, jump, jump
Throw your teddy bear and catch
Turn around, turn around, jump, jump, jump
Put it on your head and walk around the room
Put it on your head and walk around the room
Put it on your shoulder
Put it on your elbow
Put it on your knee
Put it on your back now
Put it on your stomach
Put it on your fingers
Put it on your foot
Put it on your arm now
Put it on your head and walk around the room
Put it on your head and walk around the room
HOW TO CHANGE IT UP:
-If you are winding down for the night and don’t want your child to be jumping around, have them pretend that the teddy bear is listening to directions and following along with the music. When they hear the part of the song that refers to body parts, have them touch those parts of the bear!
