It’s hard to believe that the New Year is here!! Every year, over the holiday break, we reflect on the past year with our kids. They always have some great memories to share and it’s a really fun thing to do as a family! We also scroll back through our photos from the year to jog our memory.
We like to do this with our kids in our New Year therapy sessions too! For our older kids, we have them make notes about what they liked about this year, what was challenging, and what their proudest moments were. It’s always so awesome to hear their perspectives.
At this time of year, we also like to set goals together for the year to come. This is helpful at home – to talk about things kids want to work on outside of school or things you want to work on as a family. But it’s also great to do with kids at school who are working in the classroom and/or in therapy to achieve independence and success with certain skills.
We are big believers in writing goals down as a reminder of what we want to achieve. For this reason, we created a new years resolution printable for kids to remember what they’ve achieved this year, document their dreams for the year ahead, and relish in their progress throughout the coming months!
