HAPPY MOVEMENT MONDAY EVERYONE!! We hope you all had a great weekend with your families, celebrating Mother’s Day and spring! Today is a great day to get outside and get moving with your kiddos. Challenge them to move their their whole bodies with fantastic gross motor activities like the ones that were shared on our facebook wall this past week! Here were a few of our favorites:
Chanda from PINK OATMEAL BLOG has a little guy that is on the move! She is a fellow pediatric physical therapists (no preferential treatment…promise!!) and she came up with this awesome way to encourage her son to keep on movin’ on. You will love all of the materials that she found around her house to make this sensory box. Sure looks like he is having a great time to me!!
ADVENTURES OF ADAM came up with a fantastic party with a farm theme. She shares all kinds of ideas for whole body movement within this theme but my favorite was definitely the “cow skittles”. I was immediately intrigued by the name of this game. I quickly learned that this is a bowling game….but Adventures of Adam…where does the “skittles” part come from? I was expecting little bits of colorful candy to scatter around as the cows fell down! I love learning the various names for games from around the world!!
And last, but certainly not least, FROGS AND SNAILS AND PUPPY DOG TAILS shared a collection of 10+ Outdoor Playspaces that Kids Love. You will find some very creative ideas in this collection and your kiddos will be moving and shaking all week!!
If you have a great idea or a post that encourages gross motor movement for kids, please head over to our Facebook page and share them now! At least head over and see what everyone else is sharing today1 Enjoy your Monday!!
