Every circus needs a clown! The best fine motor activities are ones that challenge other skills as well. Â This fun drawing project will challenge your child’s cognitive skills as they follow simple commands to make her own unique, funny-faced clown. Â Get out those crayons, here we go!
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:  Paper, crayons, and the poem below.
Draw a circle, make it big
Put some swirls on like a wig
Make a circle as a nose
A tie on his neck or maybe a bow
Now a smile big and wide
An ear must go on either side
Put on some eyes, make them brown
Now you have a CIRCUS CLOWN!
WHAT TO DO: Â Read the poem through one time so your child knows what to expect. Â Now read it through again, line by line, giving your child time to complete each request before moving onto the next.
HOW TO CHANGE IT UP:
-Have some more fun with drawing! Â Have your child create some other circus attractions by listening as you give the directions: draw a lion, cotton candy, or a bear!
SKILL AREAS ADDRESSED: Â Fine motor skills, cognitive skills, visual perceptual skills, visual motor integration, motor control, grasp
