Valentine’s Day Balance Game
Today, we’re here to share another new favorite game that came to life on a snowy February day when our kiddos needed to MOVE! The kids actually helped come up with this one themselves when they saw a stack of paper hearts that we had set aside for a craft activity.
They immediately scattered them around the floor and started jumping from heart to heart. All it took was adding a bosu ball into the mix to turn it into an awesome balance activity for kids!
This fun and active game is a little tricky at first and is sure to spark some laughter as kids get the hang of balancing on the squishy surface of the bosu ball.
What You’ll Need:
-Paper hearts in a variety of colors
What to Do:
The instructions for this game are simple. First, set the paper hearts on the floor in a circle around the bosu ball. Check out the video here!
Version 1
Have the child stand in the middle of the bosu ball. Call out a color and have the child step to that colored heart with one foot (keeping the other foot on the bosu ball). Have them step their other foot back up onto the bosu ball to stand and wait for the next color to be called out.
Version 2
Have the child sit on the bosu ball. Call out a color and have the child lean back slightly, lifting both feet and balancing on their backside, as they use their hands to turn toward the heart that is the same color you called out. Have them place their feet down on the heart and wait for the next color to be called.
Version 3
Have the child stand on any heart. Call out a color of a heart that is located on the opposite side of the circle. Have the child step up and over the bosu ball to get to the heart that you called out. Repeat!
This activity would be perfect for a Valentine’s Day Classroom Party. These ideas would also make for some fun Valentine’s Day party games for a Valentines party at home!
