The viral Snackle Box is the focus of every kid that we encounter these days. Even our own kids have gotten in on the trend. But we think that these ingenious boxes with individual storage compartments are perfect for organizing some things that won’t cause a sugar rush or add inches to your waistline.
The Snackle Box makes an ideal container for sensory storage and organization! Whether you’re a therapist, teacher or parent, grab one of these inexpensive bins and get ready to create some awesome on-the-go sensory bins!
At The Treehouse, we start every one of our play groups with a sensory bin. It’s the perfect way to encourage tactile exploration, social skill building and fine motor strengthening. Every week is a new theme and, therefore, an exciting and unique sensory bin! We have found that it’s super convenient to compile and store all of the items for each theme’s sensory bin in one container to make it super easy to put them together each week.
Grab this awesome sensory storage box and then check out two of our favorite on-the-go sensory bins!
Ocean Themed Sensory Storage Box
This is the perfect mix of fun for any child that loves the ocean, Shark Week or touching and exploring interesting textures. Here is what is included in our shark themed bin:
Blue Pluffle
Have you heard of Pluffle?? This might just be the coolest sensory bin filler ever (and trust us, we’ve tried them all). Kids will love how the Pluffle seems to move and grow on its own when they touch it! Perfect for simulating water in our shark themed sensory bin!
Glass Pebbles/Flat Sided Marbles
Our kids like to pretend that these are pirate treasures buried in the sea!
Blue “Diamonds”
Add a handful of these beautiful gems to your sensory bin for some extra sparkle.
Seashells
No ocean-themed sensory bin would be complete without a few pretty shells!
Plastic Sharks
And last, but certainly not least…the sharks! Kids will have a blast swimming these little guys through the Pluffle and hiding them underneath!
Alphabet Themed Sensory Storage Box
This sensory bin makes for an excellent opportunity for learning through hands on play! Check it out!
Alphabet Pasta
We dyed this pasta using acrylic paint. Take a scoop of pasta, put it in a zip top bag, add enough paint to coat and shake/knead the bag until the paint is distributed evenly. Repeat for each color you would like to use! Spread it out on a layer of parchment paper to dry overnight.
Letter Erasers
Hide these in the alphabet pasta and see if kids can find and retrieve each requested letter! Or, have them find the letters and match them to the Alphabet Cards (below).
Letter Beads (and Pipe Cleaners)
Another fun letter manipulative to hide in the pasta bin. Kids can string beads onto pipe cleaners to spell their names and other words.
Alphabet Clips
We love these cool letter clips for hand strengthening and bilateral coordination! Have kids clip them onto the matching Alphabet Card (below).
Alphabet Matching Cards
These are a favorite item from our shop that can be used in so many different ways with various letter manipulatives!
We hope these ideas inspire you to use the viral Snackle Box in a new and exciting way! Fill them up and walk into each therapy session, quiet time, or classroom center confident that you are going to build some skills and have some fun!
