The air is getting cooler here in Ohio and you have to move around a little more to stay warm outside. In other words, it is PERFECT weather for MOVEMENT MONDAY — the day of the week dedicated to whole body, gross motor activities here at The Inspired Treehouse. We had some awesome activities shared on our Facebook page last Monday and we can’t wait for you to be inspired. Here we go!!
TINY TOTS ADVENTURE had this great idea for combining movement and learning. AND…she used bubbles!! What kiddo out there won’t do something for BUBBLES? Not many! She had her babies running to identify the letters of the alphabet! I see a lot of learning, gross motor and even sensory play in this activity!
LEARNING 2 WALK used their feet to paint fall! This is another perfect example of gross motor and sensory play. See how she did it by clicking on the picture.
YOUR THERAPY SOURCE shared this printable gross motor activity that has children completing gross motor skills that they find on the back of a fallen leaf. The twist? It’s also a matching game! Who can complete their side of the tree first?
And, finally, we couldn’t leave out this amazing activity from ADVENTURES OF ADAM. As therapists, we LOVE activities that encourage kids to bend, squat, reach, twist, and jump! This sticky apple tree idea does all of that!
It’s great to see you all sharing such creative ideas for getting kids moving! And, so many of these activities have great opportunities for learning too! Thank you!! Please be sure to stop by and share your activities on our Facebook page today!
HAPPY MONDAY!
