Hello there!! We skipped our usual Movement Monday Round-up last week to showcase some of our favorite toys and products for kids that promote fine motor, gross motor, and sensory development.
But we’re excited to be back this week to inspire you to get up and get moving with your kids with some awesome gross motor activities!
Is it snowing where you are? A snowy day is the perfect way to get outside and get moving with the whole family! Sledding, snowman-building, snowball fights! So many fun ways to play with kids in the snow!
Alright, Let’s do this…
Teaching 2 and 3 Year Olds had a great post about promoting whole body movement through music. This round-up of awesome action songs for preschoolers will help get those wiggles out for sure!
Check out this fantastic Army Party from GROWING HeARTS! There are so many neat ideas in here to not only get kids moving but also working on body awareness, hand-eye coordination and bilateral coordination. What a fun party!
J Daniel 4’s Mom shared a fun math game using printable number turkeys! While this wasn’t exactly a gross motor game, we can see lots of potential for whole body movement in these cute turkeys! Print them out and have your child play the math games while going up and down the stairs or skipping from one place to another. Maybe you can have them jump over a few hurdles to place a feather on the turkey or walk across a balance beam. The perfect combination of movement and learning!
Thank you to everyone who shared on our Facebook page last week for Movement Monday. Head over there now to share your ideas and have the chance to be featured on next week’s round-up. Whole body movement can be so much fun, so get up and get moving!!
HAPPY MONDAY!
