Hello everyone and Happy Movement Monday! Did you spend Memorial Day at a parade or maybe at a picnic? Is school out where you live? Our kiddos have one more week in class and then the summer fun will begin! Thank you to all of you who shared your amazing whole body movement ideas on our Facebook Page last week. Here are some of your ideas for gross motor activities that are perfect for kicking off the summer months!
Giselle at KIDS YOGA STORIES has a monthly Kid’s Love Yoga series, featuring a new yoga pose along with pictures of children doing that pose from all around the world. Love this idea!! Be sure to check out this month’s pose — BOAT POSE — learn how to do it, the benefits of the pose, and how to incorporate the pose into pretend play.
KITCHEN FLOOR CRAFTS shared an idea for one of our FAVORITE movement activities at The Treehouse. She rounded up a bunch of toys and let her kiddos use their imaginations to create their own obstacle courses. Easy, cheap, beneficial fun!
And, Amy at THE CONNECTION WE SHARE brought us another fantastic activity that teaches cooperation, balance, gravity and, best of all, friendship! This painting activity is so sweet and I especially love the little handprint touch!!
Such great ideas, right? Be sure to head over to share your awesome activities for gross motor movement on our Facebook wall throughout the week.
