Hello and happy Monday! What did you do to get your kiddos up and moving this week? Have you tried any of the Movement Monday activities from the past few weeks? If so, please comment below and let us know. We would love to hear that we’re providing some great gross motor inspiration for you and your children! Here are our favorites from those that were shared this week!
HOW WEE LEARN shared a great collection of ideas for balloon play. I love that these can be done indoors or out and there is definitely a game for every child! Blowing the Balloon, Balloon Tennis, and Run with a String are just a few examples! Click on over to her blog to see the rest of the ideas!
Our friend Heather at GOLDEN REFLECTIONS BLOG shares a great post about the Vestibular System and provides her tactics for encouraging crawling using a tunnel and some common household items. This activity is so fun that your child will never realize how hard she is working!
LITTLE BINS FOR LITTLE HANDS sent over another fantastic vestibular activity. This one involves moving fast and lots of direction changes! The challenge can be made as easy or difficult as you want and will surely keep kids entertained for awhile. Start the clock for an added bit of competition!
Thank you for your awesome ideas! Please be sure to visit our FACEBOOK page and share your favorite gross motor activities on our wall. Look around at The Inspired Treehouse to find out more about gross motor skills. Want to learn more about the vestibular system as mentioned above? Read about it in this post!
