Activities for kids don’t have to require a whole lot of fancy materials in order to target important developmental skills. We love activities and projects that give you a lot of bang for your buck! This is one of our new favorites.
Kids will love creating their own one-of-a-kind Mini Monster craft with this super easy (and super cheap!) idea. This one is awesome for working on fine motor and bilateral coordination skills and would be great to make at a kids Halloween party!
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
-Twist ties (like the ones that come in a box of garbage bags – some grocery stores will give them to you for free from the produce section too!)
-Googly eyes
-Glue
WHAT TO DO:
Give your kiddo a handful of twist ties and let them go wild! Show them how to twist and bend the twist ties around each other to make arms, legs, bodies, and more!
Help the child glue on some googly eyes to bring the little monster to life!
HOW TO CHANGE IT UP:
-Try painting or using permanent marker to add more details to your monsters like teeth, polka dots, or stripes!
SKILL AREAS ADDRESSED: Fine motor skills, grasp, coordination, visual motor integration
