It’s summertime and that means it’s time for some water play! These five pool and water play activities for kids aren’t just great for keeping cool on a hot day, they’re also perfect opportunities to boost fine and gross motor development while providing fantastic sensory input. The resistance provided by the water in a pool is amazing for challenging endurance and strength and provides proprioceptive input from head to toe. Throw in some sponges, water balloons, and spray bottles and kiddos get the added benefit of fine motor work and hand strengthening! What more could a pediatric therapist ask for? :)
