This printable back to school list for therapists is the perfect way to get a jump on the school year!
It’s about that time! The back to school sales are in full effect at all of my favorite stores, the kids are itching for new shoes, new backpacks, and new binders, and the emails from our school district have infiltrated my inbox with requests for physical forms and school fees.
I am counting down the days of summer and beginning to feel anxious about all I have to get done and organized for the upcoming year as a school based physical therapist. Each year, the list seems to grow longer and more tedious.
To make the transition from summer to school a little bit easier, we thought we’d put together a printable back to school list of “to-dos” for all of our fellow school based therapists. Let us know if we missed something and we’ll update the list!
Back to School List for Therapists
1 || Inventory and organize therapy supplies
2 || Review and organize caseload information (names, dates of birth, contact information, teachers/classrooms, frequency of service, goals, copies of IEPs/MFEs, important dates)
3 || Create data sheets for each student
4 || Create plans of care for each student
5 || Create files for each student for IEPs, MFEs, data sheets, and work samples
6 || Draft an introduction letter to parents
7 || Introduce yourself to teachers and discuss scheduling needs
8 || Finalize schedule
9 || Set up your room (if you’re lucky enough to have one!)
10 || Assemble an evaluation kit with assessment items (paper, pencils, crayons, ball, scissors, puzzle, etc.)
11 || Make a box or bag of frequently used items for easy grab and go!
What else would you add to our list? How do you start the school year off right, staying organized and ahead of the game? Leave us a comment or send us an email at theinspiredtreehouse@gmail.com and we’ll add new ideas to the printable!
If you’re really looking to take charge of organizing your therapy practice this school year, you’ve come to the right place! We’re excited to announce that our Therapy Planner is now available!
Perfect for school-based therapists and others working in pediatric settings, the Therapy Planner is an amazing tool that can help you organize and streamline your practice.
Complete with easy-to-use documentation sheets, schedules and calendars, note pages, treatment planning templates and more, the Therapy Planner allows you to efficiently manage your paperwork so you can focus your time and energy on quality evaluations, creative treatments, and meaningful collaboration with families, teachers, and other colleagues.
All of the documents are digital and editable, so you can download them and type directly into the forms, or print them and write on them yourself!
Stop reinventing the wheel each school year, creating (and recreating) data sheets and other documentation for yourself that never quite works the way you want it to.
Stop spending so much time on documentation and paperwork that you have no room in your schedule for the parts of your job you really love.
Stop feeling disorganized, scattered, and inefficient at work. Use the The Inspired Treehouse Therapy Planner to get organized this year!
