Hello there, friends! It is Monday again and you know what that means? Time to get up and get moving and shaking! What will you do today to encourage gross motor skills with your child?
My 3rd grader came home with an awesome calendar from her Physical Education teacher. It had a movement activity written on each day of the week that students were encouraged to complete. As a parent, I am asked to do the activity with her and then initial that it has been completed. So motivating and fun!
AND, they are short bursts of activity that we can fit into our day! Here is a picture of it in case you would like to replicate it!
YOUNG EARTHY MAMA || I loved this post idea listing things to put inside of a nature backpack. It certainly encourages children to get outside and to explore their environment. And, of course, that requires whole body movement! Great ideas here!
RESEARCH PARENT || Awhile ago, we brought you a post about teaching your child to ride a bike and one of the things we suggested was using a balance bike. Well, this mechanical engineer is BRILLIANT! He has a DIY Tutorial to make your own balance bike! With awesome pictures and step-by-step instructions, it would be a fun project to tackle! And, by the way, her blog is fascinating!!
That’s a wrap for today! Enjoy the holiday with your family if you are here in the United States. Be sure to stop by our Facebook Page and share something fun that you did to get moving!
