DIY Balloon

for Kids

Using balloons is a cheap and simple way to make fidget toys for kids.  You can use various materials to create balloons with different textures (smooth, crunchy, hard to squeeze, easy to squeeze, etc.) Simply fill a deflated balloon with one of the following ideas.

MARBLES

 DIY Balloon Fidget Toy Fillers

Filling a balloon with marbles creates a hand strengthening fidget.

PLAY DOUGH

Simply squish and squeeze playdough inside the balloon until it's squeezable!

FLOUR

Flour creates a softer, easier to squeeze version.

SAND

Sand makes for a more dense, harder to squeeze fidget.

DRY BEANS

Using a variety of types and sizes creates different textures and density.

RICE

A rice filling creates a satisfying, crunchy squeeze factor!

WATER BEADS

Water beads in a balloon takes that slimy, smooth, squeezable texture to go!

BAKING SODA & CONDITIONER

We borrowed this from our friends at Your Kids OT.

POMPOMS

Soft, squishy, and won't make a huge mess if broken!

- Double layer the ballons - Cut the top off a water balloon and use as a funnel - Have the kids help!
